While spiders do have the ability to bite humans they don’t frequently do so. The problem with spiders is that they just tend to bother people when they are around. If you are finding more than one or two random spiders throughout your home it might be wise to look into a bigger issue you may have and take care of it quickly before things become out of control.

Seal off gaps and cracks in your home that you can see but it’s likely there will be some smaller ones that you can’t find and spiders can easily sneak in those kinds of spots. Try to keep excessive clutter to a minimum especially in basements. Spiders like to hide behind boxes and curtains so in the spring when spiders start to become more active you can take the vacuum to any area you think might be a perfect hiding spot and make sure you remove dust, dirt and webs.

Certain years will be worse than others when it comes to how many spiders you will find in your house. Extremely wet springs and summers will increase the number and it’s wise to use an all-natural insect spray like Nature-Cide to keep spiders out of your living space but also away from the foundation of your home. Inside you can spray it around baseboards and even up in high corners that usually house webs. The best part is that it’s safe and won’t harm anyone inside the home. Its ingredients come straight from nature and it is so safe you can even spray it on your skin!

It’s difficult for any home to completely prevent any spiders from coming in. The important part however, is to make sure the amount of spiders stays to a minimum so there is no opportunity for eggs to be laid and hatch at a later date. If this happens an infestation of spiders can take place and it can become very hard to get rid of them all. If you keep your home at a regular humidity level of 40%-60% you will attract far less insects, especially spiders. You can regulate this using a dehumidifier or humidifier if your moisture levels are low.

Spiders usually enter a home to look for food. If you have a tightly-sealed and well-protected home with very few other species of insects then your home will be useless to spiders and they will make their way back out again. Making sure you don’t have cracks or gaps around windows and doors or as part of your foundation is a great way to protect your home against spiders and other insects.

You should also check around the perimeter of your home. Keeping bushes and other plants trim can prevent spiders from being attracted to the outside of your home and then making their way inside. Mulch or stone should be kept away from the first inch or two closest to your foundation. This reduces hiding spots for spiders and they will be less likely to try and get to your house.

Regularly throughout the year you can use an all-natural pesticide such as Nature-Cide to reduce the number of spiders and other insects you find in and around your home. Turning towards a natural alternative to bug spray is a great idea because not only can you use it around the perimeter of where you live but it can be used inside the home without affecting human’s or pet’s health.

There are approximately 40,000 species of spiders and they can be found everywhere in the world except for Antarctica. They are unlike other insects in that they do not have antennae.

Color: Spiders vary in color and can be black, brown, red, green and so on. It depends on the species and the environment they are found in.

Size and Shape: Spiders can be as small as 0.5mm or as large as 20cm. Their body is two segments fused together at the center.

Behavior: Spiders spent a great deal of time forming webs that they use to trap prey in. Different styles of webs are used to trap different types of prey and they are very intricate in design.

Habitat: Spiders can literally live just about anywhere. In homes you will find them in damp basements or up in visible spots on the ceiling.

Damage: Certain species of spiders can be poisonous if they bite a human. While some of these species are often found in the wild many household spiders such as the black widow can be found indoors.

Sometimes looking for the source of the problem can be difficult but silverfish will usually hang around the damp area and won’t travel too far outside that realm. Once the moisture problem has been fixed it is now time to get rid of these unwanted house guests.

A pesticide can be applied around the perimeter of the home both inside and out to create a protective barrier against additional silverfish that may want to come inside. This will also trap silverfish inside allowing you to get rid of them. It’s unfortunate that a number of pesticides on the market use very harsh chemicals that are harmful for humans to be around but an all-natural version such as Nature-Cide can work just as effectively. The best part is that it’s ingredients come straight from nature and it’s so safe you can even spray it directly onto your skin.

If you spray Nature-Cide around plumbing, toilets, sinks and baseboards you will be done with this insects before you know it. Reapplying frequently is important since silverfish can live up to one year without food. You want to make sure you don’t let your guard down prematurely and allow them to return full force.

Preventing silverfish from coming into your home is extremely important because of the extensive damage they can cause if you allow them to have free reign and feed off of whatever they wish. A silverfish can live up to one full year without food which means that they are a very tough insect to get rid of and they will easily survive in your home.

Because silverfish hang out around moisture sources you will want to do a thorough investigation of your home to make sure you don’t have any leaky pipes or condensation. The most common places for this is in basements and in bathrooms. Leaky faucets can also attract silverfish so make sure everything shuts off tightly and entirely.

If there are any spots in the home that have damaged or moldy wood you should take care of this immediately. Mold or rotting wood indicates a moisture problem whether it be from a leak or from high levels of humidity in the air. A dehumidifier can help bring moisture levels back to normal and plumbing should be checked.

You may want to consider using an all-natural insecticide spray such as Nature-Cide around the indoor and outdoor perimeter of your home to prevent silverfish from making their way indoors. The all natural ingredients make for a safe form of protection that you can use around pets and humans with no adverse reactions. You can use this product regularly throughout the year and especially during times where the moisture levels are very high because of weather.

Moths are most present in the warmer summer months so this is likely when you will find the most activity occurring. They can also lay eggs that will hatch at a later time and the larvae can be a nuisance long before they even become moths.

More likely than not you’ll find moths fluttering around your porch or other outdoor lights. It’s important to look closely around doors and windows especially on screens that might have a small hole that moths can enter through. Once all gaps have been sealed up you are going to want to use all natural Nature-Cide to keep new moths from entering and to kill off any existing moths that are in the home. Because the product is so safe you can apply it in any room of the house that is attracting moths. Spraying it in closets will keep moths from snacking on your clothing.

As time goes on you can use Nature-Cide as a preventive measure for protecting your home. It’s always a good idea to be careful when opening up doors when you’re coming or going as well.

Also if there are large cracks or gaps around the home this is an easy way for them to get in. The most common areas of access are around doors or windows. Small tears in screens make for an easy access route as well. All of these areas should be thoroughly inspected and repaired to moths and other insects from being able to come in.

The majority of moths are nocturnal so if you leave a lot of outdoor lights on moths are going to be automatically attracted to your property. Lights that are right inside the entry points in your home put your home at risk for attracting moths if you leave them on late into the evening especially when windows or doors are open.

Preventing moth infestation in your home can be done by using an insecticide. A lot of products on the market use harsh chemicals that can be extremely harmful to pets and humans. Choosing an all-natural product can be just as effective as well as safe. The ingredients in Nature-Cide are completely safe and use essential oils straight from nature to kill moths as well as prevent them from entering your home.

It is suspected there are thousands more species that have not yet been identified.

Color: Moths are usually brown in color but may also have black, white or gray incorporated into their look. There are a few very unique species that are more colorful.

Size and Shape: Moths are triangular in shape and can vary greatly in size depending on the type of moth. A number of species have tails.

Behavior: Most moths are nocturnal. They are usually attracted to artificial light sources but experts have yet to determine why this is.

Habitat: Moths can be found all over the world. They are most often found within the bark of trees or on the bottoms of plants.

Damage: Most people are familiar with the species of moths that like to eat cloth. If these types of moths make their way into your closets or onto your bedding they can cause a great deal of damage by eating holes in the fabric. Other species cause damage to crops both in the caterpillar and moth stages.

People associate flies with dirty conditions since that is what flies use for reproduction purposes. If you’re battling flies it doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re living in filthy conditions it just means that these pests are trying to invade your home and fighting back will reduce the amount of flies you will find buzzing around.

Preventing flies is the most affordable and most effective way to reduce their presence but if things go beyond your control you can quickly take care of the situation to get your home back. First you should do a thorough cleaning of your home including emptying all the garbage cans and washing them out to get rid of any strong scents. Make sure you have cleaned up after your pets and they are up to date with their baths. Check your yard for high weeds, animal waste or garbage. Your goal is to clean up your property thoroughly to reduce any fly attractions.

After you have performed a thorough cleaning you will want to consider turning towards a bug spray that will be effective to repel flies. Nature-Cide makes a safe and effective product that is so unthreatening that you could spray it directly onto your skin with no ill-effects. It comes in a variety of sizes including a 2 oz. bottle that will fit into your bag or purse. A product doesn’t have to be chalk full of chemicals to work well in your home. Doing your research and turning towards an all-natural insecticide option can be just as effective.

The best way to prevent flies from entering your home and hanging out around the area is to remove anything that would attract them. This eliminates places for them to breed and increase in numbers. Flies are more prevalent in the summer months and in the winter they go into a dormant stage where they do not feed or reproduce. They reappear in the summer full force.

In the summer months garbage can have a very strong smell because of the heat and should be kept outside in tightly closed garbage cans. It’s also wise to keep cans or recycle bins away from the entryways to your home so they won’t have an easy way in when you open the door. The garbage inside your home should be tied up and removed daily to prevent any strong scent from attracting flies. Also be sure to put food away and do not let anything spoil.

Flies are a little larger than other insects such as fleas or mites. You can very effectively keep them out by sealing around your doors and windows. Unless you have very large cracks in the foundation or on your home, flies will have a hard time getting in. If you like to allow fresh air in during the warmer months you should make sure that your screens are free of holes or tears that flies would have an easy time squeezing through.

Flies are most typically looking for dirty and smelly places to lay their eggs. Keeping your home and property clean and tidy goes a long way to preventing flies. In the heat of the summer though, even the cleanest home can battle flies. Sometimes it may be necessary to utilize an all-natural bug spray around windows, doors and garbage cans to protect your home. Insecticide sprays can help assist you with getting through the times of the year when flies are most prevalent in your area.

Fleas are an extremely resistant insect and this makes it hard to remove them once they have been found in your home. Because of their hard exterior it’s hard to crush them other than taking them in your fingers, rolling them and making sure they are compressed enough. Fleas can be drowned as well but this doesn’t make for an effective option if the fleas are living on a number of surfaces in great quantities.

Fleas lay their eggs very quickly once they have been introduced inside the home. Pets should be bathed immediately and quarantined once the flea infestation has been discovered. Clothing, bedding and towels should also be cleaned frequently even after you have stopped finding fleas on them. Their eggs can remain and will begin a new cycle of flea problems after the first round has been taken care of. Steam cleaning carpets and floors will remove any remaining flea waste or eggs.

Flea traps are available on the market that include sticky surfaces that the fleas will stick to. This can be effective but it can also take some time. You have to be pretty sure of the exact locations the fleas are living in and you have to wait for them to walk across the trap. Using an insecticide spray such as Nature-Cide can safely and effectively keep fleas out of the living space in your home, allowing you to regain control. Using an all-natural bug spray will help you get rid of fleas in your house without harming the animals or humans inside. Fleas in the home can be extremely dangerous to a person or pet’s well being. Not only do fleas suck on their host’s blood but they also carry disease and bacteria. Many people experience allergic reactions from the bite of a flea that can progress into skin lesions or a severe rash. Determining the best options for fighting a flea contamination in your home can help you quickly and efficiently prevent these creatures from causing harm.

Once fleas are introduced into your home they can quickly reproduce and take over especially because of the fact that a female flea can lay up to 500 eggs during it’s lifetime. The best way you can protect your home and your family is to address potential ways that fleas could come into the home. These factors might include pets, sanitation and outdoor hazards.

Any pet can be a potential carrier for fleas. Animals don’t bathe as often as humans do and they tend to not be as clean either. Even an animal that doesn’t go outside can be at risk of carrying fleas around. Cats and dogs can receive preventive flea treatments from their vet or from over the counter products that will make the surface of their bodies an unwelcome environment. You should also be extremely careful about letting stray animals come into your home before they have been properly checked out by a professional.

Proper sanitation goes a long way when trying to prevent fleas. Vacuuming regularly will reduce the amount of dander, skin, dust, fibers and existing flea waste that you will find in your home. All these small debris items provide protection for a flea especially their own waste material which is used by flea larvae to grow into adulthood. Removing these items regularly will make conditions unwelcome for the flea.

Fleas can sense you coming from your breath and your movement. When you walk through an area outside that is infested they will immediately jump onto your clothes, skin or in your hair. It is at that point that the flea has a free ride into your home. Maintaining your property outside will eliminate flea presence and reduce your risk of transferring them indoors. Sewage systems, animal waste and high weeds and grasses should all be maintained and in working order. You can also apply an all-natural bug spray to create a barrier near your doors and windows to prevent fleas from coming in on their own through small cracks or gaps. Their size allows them to travel almost anywhere but an insecticide spray can increase your safety and protection.

When you spot an earwig in your home you can simply sweep it up and discard of it properly so it won’t re-enter. If the problem becomes more severe and you notice the number of these pests increasing as the days pass, some additional measures may need to take place to protect your home so the problem doesn’t become out of control. Earwigs bites and foul odor shouldn’t have to be a concern in your home.

To get rid of earwigs you need to consider the conditions they need to survive in the home. They require moisture of some sort so doing a thorough search of the home to address leaky pipes, condensation or cracks in the foundation can all be the first step to reducing earwig population. Even a newer home that is relatively free of leaks or moisture problems should address potential excessive humidity in the basement simply because of the fact that the room is underground and tends to have more moisture in the air than the rest of the house. A dehumidifier can bring moisture levels back to normal and make conditions unlivable for an earwig.

If you cover all of your bases when it comes to preventing earwigs in your home and you’re still finding that you have a problem it may be time to turn to a insecticide to make your home yours again. While a number of these bug sprays have a host of harmful chemicals inside of them there are now a number of all-natural products such as Nature-Cide which is 100% chemical free and safe for adults, babies and even pets. Not only is Nature-Cide a cost effective way to rid your home of earwigs but it is also effective.

Earwigs are basically an annoyance like any other unwanted pest in your home. Fortunately, they are not too hard to get rid of if you consider their personalities and you are equipped with the correct tools to remove them permanently from your home. Using a natural bug spray as an effective option for getting rid of earwigs is a safe alternative to other chemical-ridden sprays. Before you know it you will be earwig free.

The earwig usually enters the home by accident when the weather becomes dry outside and they seek a more comfortable and damp shelter. Making it difficult for them to enter your home can be the best preventative tool towards minimizing earwig infestation. Going around the entire perimeter of your home both inside and out can help you determine where small gaps and cracks might be located, allowing earwigs and other pests to enter. The best options for sealing up your home is caulk or expanding spray foam.

You can also utilize a bug repelling spray on the inside of your home to prevent earwigs from entering your living space if they do find a way in. All-natural insecticides are now available which make it much safer to protect the inside of your home without having to worry about the safety of your family or pets. The best locations to apply a bug spray would be around your windows, doors and baseboards.

Deterring earwigs from the outer perimeter of your home is also important and can be done a number of ways. Reducing lighting around doors and windows can make it much harder for an earwig to find a way inside. You should also keep landscaping minimal and neat to prevent a family of earwigs from camping out and multiplying right near an entrance to your home. Mulch, gravel and stones around the outside of your home can attract these insects. Your home should also be free of ivy or other plants that could be growing up the side house.

In order to properly get rid of crickets in your home and on your property you need to understand their behavior. If you remove the places outside that they frequent most, such as dark and protected areas, you can minimize the amount of crickets you will see coming in. Initially removing large rocks, firewood, weeds and grasses from the perimeter of your home will prevent more crickets from flocking to the area.

With most species of crickets being nocturnal you should keep the lighting outside of your house to a minimum. A porch light for safety purposes won’t pose much of a problem but if you keep most of your yard illuminated long into the night you will find a increase in cricket activity. If your home has any gaps or cracks around the perimeter then they will eventually find their way in. It is also important to repair these small openings to the outside.

Crickets are rather large and they make a lot of noise. Once you find them inside your home you can usually find them and capture or kill them. This is an easy fix if you come into contact with one or two crickets but if they have a constant presence you may have a large problem. Using an insecticide can eliminate and prevent a further cricket problem but it’s important to use a safe product that won’t harm you or your family. An all natural bug spray such as Nature-Cide can be liberally used around the inner perimeter of your home as well as outside or in garages.

Their constant chirping sound can prevent a daily schedule from progressing normally. Preventing a visit from crickets can sometimes be as easy as making sure doorways and windows are sealed properly. You should also check around any electrical, gas or water lines that lead to the outdoors. A lot of times there are small gaps in these spots and this is where crickets sneak in. The basement is a common place for crickets to enter and reside. If moisture levels are kept at appropriate levels crickets won’t be as tempted to come in. Also be sure to keep food sealed and put away inside a pantry or cupboard.

Prevention also should take place outside the home. The perimeter of the home should be clear of overgrown weeds, wood piles or trash. This prevents the cricket from being attracted to your home. You can also turn towards an all natural insect repellent to help keep crickets from entering. Using an all natural insect repellent product is wise because not only will it be safe for pets and other animals wandering around the yard but you can also use it inside the home.

Ultimately the goal of any homeowner is to prevent cockroaches whenever possible. Unfortunately, there can sometimes be an undetected water leak or mess in the home that can attract cockroaches without anybody ever knowing until there is a large pest problem. When dealing with large apartment complexes it can be even tougher to find out where the source of the problem may be located. Proper communication between the landlord and the tenants can usually help solve the problem in an efficient and effective manner.

Before any extensive pest control can be done, the first step to creating a cockroach-free environment is to complete a thorough cleaning of every area inside the home or apartment building. This includes removing garbage, old newspapers and magazines, unused items and expired food. Everything should neatly be put in it’s place and all containers of food or beverage should be sealed shut tightly.

Once the home or building has been cleaned a pesticide should be applied to get rid of any existing cockroaches as well as repel any new ones from entering. Unfortunately, a number of commercial-grade pesticides and insecticides can contain a number of chemicals that can be very harmful to humans as well as pets. Turning towards a natural pesticide for assistance can be just as effective but much safer. Nature-Cide makes a completely safe and inexpensive bug spray that is so unthreatening to humans it can be sprayed directly on the skin. Applying it to all the cracks and crevices in your home will not only kill the existing bugs that come into contact with it but it will also trap other bugs from finding the food and water that is necessary for their survival.

Cockroaches are a very resilient and bothersome pest that many people find in their homes. It takes persistence to get rid of these creatures but with natural bug spray options available you can focus on the important task of removing the cockroaches without worrying about the product that you are frequently applying. Within a short amount of time you can have your cockroach problem under control and can focus on preventing another infestation from occurring.

They are a major irritant to allergy and asthma sufferers but they also carry germs that can cause a variety of illnesses. No home is safe from a cockroach infestation but you can take a number of steps to make sure that you are not attracting these unwanted house guests from entering and making themselves at home.

Maintaining your home and keeping everything clean is the most important task for preventing cockroaches. Cockroaches rely on readily available food, water and dark shelter in order to thrive. Simply keeping countertops, tables and floors clean from food or water can make a big difference as well as keeping dishes washed and put away. Food should also be sealed securely and put into cupboards or inside the refrigerator.

Keeping an eye on locations in the home such as pipes, toilets, showers and faucets can also help prevent cockroaches from being attracted to your living space. Even the smallest pipe leak can provide enough water for a cockroach to thrive. You should also be sure to run your bathroom fan during and after showers to reduce excessive humidity in the bathroom as well as the air inside the rest of the house.

It’s also a general rule of thumb for insect prevention to caulk or seal any gaps or cracks that exist around your home. If you allow access from the outside, cockroaches will easily be able to get in. Pay extra attention to the spaces around plumbing, gas lines and electrical lines. You should also seal gaps behind cupboards, vanities and countertops.

You will be better preventing cockroaches in your home if you make conditions undesirable for this insect. Whether you have had a cockroach problem in the past or you simply want to prevent them from ever entering your home, you may want to consider using an insect repellant to protect your family. Many insecticides and pesticides can be harmful to a human’s health but there are a number of all natural repellants and safe options on the market that will work just as effectively. These products should be used periodically throughout the year along with regular upkeep of the home in order to provide optimal protection against cockroaches.

Some females also drink the nectar from flowers.

Color: Mosquitoes are brownish-purple in color.

Size and Shape: The body of a mosquito consists of the head, thorax and abdomen. The body is segmented and there are large wings and long legs attached. The mouthparts of a mosquito are highly developed and are designed to easily pierce a host’s skin and suck their blood out. The adult doesn’t usually get larger than 16mm.

Behavior: Female mosquitoes can feed off plant nectar but most feed from blood before they can reproduce. Mosquitoes can sense a host is near because of scent.

Habitat: Mosquitoes usually stick to areas with low or standing water because this is where they lay their eggs. The adults live in grasses, bushes and other plants near the water.

Damage: Mosquitoes have the ability to pass illness (like malaria) to humans and animals and this happens millions of times per year. These viruses and parasites can often be life threatening if not diagnosed in a timely manner. Many people are not even aware they have been bitten which makes the diagnostic process more difficult.

They have the most developed eyes of any other insect and while they may be a danger to humans because of the disease they can spread, they are very helpful to the environment. Flies are responsible for eating and removing animal carcasses from nature. Some flies also aid in pollination.

Color: House flies are usually dull gray with a number of stripes running around their body.

Size and Shape: Flies have a short and streamlined body with three segments: head, thorax and abdomen. They grow to be approximately half an inch and they also have a moveable head, large eyes and wings.

Behavior: Flies are fast movers and flock towards anything that has a strong odor include feces, food or garbage. They also tend to fly towards light as they think they’ve found an escape route. They feed mainly off spoiled or sugary foods and are most active during the daytime.

Habitat: Flies live within the garbage they flock towards because of smell. They also move towards deceased animals where they can reside and feed.

Damage: Because flies live in extremely dirty and unpleasant conditions they can be carriers of more than 200 pathogens and parasites. Even if they don’t land on a human and pass something on they often land on food, countertops, plates and utensils.

They feed off of mammals and birds and are incredible jumpers that can easily transfer themselves from host to host. It is very hard to kill a flea which makes it hard to remove them from your home if you encounter a problem.

Color: Fleas are a very dark reddish-brown color.

Size and Shape: Fleas have very long legs, especially the hind ones which help them jump and they can grow to be 1/8 of an inch. They have tubular mouth parts to assist in sucking blood. Their bodies are hard, polished and can withstand a great amount of being jostled around.

Behavior: Fleas go through four life cycles including: egg, larva, pupa and adult. Once a flea has become an adult its main goal is to reproduce and will go to great lengths to find a host to feed off of. They often make their way indoors by way of family pets.

Habitat: Fleas are blind and they stick to dark locations rather than areas of bright light. Three quarters of their lives are spent in areas other than their host and they have the ability to survive virtually anywhere.

Damage: Fleas can cause a great deal of damage to its host. Fleas can carry a number of parasites and infections that can be life threatening to both humans and pets. For animals, an infestation of fleas can cause a slow blood loss that can ultimately be deadly.

They are very common all over the world and can cause a great deal of havoc to crops. Contrary to the myth of how the earwig got it’s name, this insect won’t typically crawl into the human ear during the night. They have the ability to fly but will usually stay close to the home that they have made for themselves and will leave humans alone.

Color: Earwigs have a red-colored head and a yellow and brown body.

Size and Shape: Earwigs have a round body and usually don’t grow longer than two inches. They have pincers on their abdomen that are used for protection or capturing prey. They have segmented antennae and two sets of wings. They front wings are much larger than the back ones.

Behavior: This insect is nocturnal and will usually inhabit small cracks or crevices especially if the area is damp. If the earwig insect cannot find a way indoors for the winter they will usually go underground and hibernate until the weather becomes warmer in the spring. If the earwig is disturbed or feels threatened it will eject a yellow liquid that has an extremely unpleasant smell.

Habitat: Earwigs stick to cool, moist areas. When there is a dry spell outside you will usually find earwigs inside the home in bathrooms or in the basement. Outside, they are extremely prevalent during seasons of high rainfall and tend to hang out around air conditioning units, spouts and gutters.

Damage: Earwigs in general do not cause an extensive amount of damage to the inside of a home but they can be an annoyance. They are capable of pinching or biting humans using their pincers but luckily don’t typically transmit bacteria or disease. They can leave their yellow discharge behind in many spots of the home causing quite a smelly mess.
